The spores of the bacillus sp.of Legionella should never be found in your home. Infants and seniors are at highest risk from exposure. Routinely identified in homes with mold in the course of our subClinical Investigations™ in air-conditioning and ventilation systems, showers, hot tubs and many other areas.

Legionella is not transmitted from person to person but transmitted by inhalation of aerosolized water and/or soil contaminated with the bacteria. In large scale commercial properties pose a greater potential due to sources where temperatures allow the bacteria to thrive include hot-water tanks,whirlpool spas, cooling towers and evaporative condensers of large air-conditioning systems, such as those commonly found in hotels and large office buildings in the reported 1976 exposure.

Exposure with infection undiagnosed and untreated will lead to respiratory failure and death. Chronic cough or chest pain must not be ignored. See physician immediately.
